Getting antsy for the HEAT!
April 1st, 2012I don’t care what anyone says, I’m ready for the friggin HEAT!!!! I’m used to Christmas in tank tops, January crop tops, and February legs. This up and down business is NOT WORKING for me.
I want to go camping, swim in ze ocean, stay out late wearing shorts and a tee and HIKE LIKE CRAY CRAY! I love hiking up to a super cool waterfall and JUMPING in the freeze-your-balls-off water just to cool down. ITS MY FAVORITE!
One of my favorite spots to hike in the summer is a place called Chantry Flats. Its off the 21o near Arcadia. Head up the mountain for about 20 minutes and you’ve made it. The drive is nice because its got some killer views the whole way up. My favorite part of this hike is the tree cover for a majority of it. Its perfect for the summer time because you’re in the shade for just the right amount of time. You have about 4 options of where you want to hike, the difficulty is different for each. The basic one, that you should do your first time, is the Sturveyant Falls.
Its THE COOLEST spot in LA. Hands down. Its ranked the 11th best hike in California! Thats saying a lot. So pack some snacks, head up early and get ready for an adventure. Its also really cool because all along the trail there are these weird random cabins, I still don’t know if you can rent them, BUT HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE????

Saturday Evening [Post] Fever
March 17th, 2012Happy Saturday and St. Patrick’s Day friends! Speaking of Saturdays, somehow I stumbled onto Saturday Evening Post covers from 1920-1940, all painted by J.C. Leyendecker. Leyendecker, influenced by Toulouse-Lautrec, was Norman Rockwell’s predecessor and was one of the most skilled American painters of the Golden Age.

Prague Castle
March 15th, 2012I’m all about old buildings, I love them. But CASTLES! That is a whole new thing. I have been lucky enough to visit the Chateau de Chenonceau in France but I don’t want to stop there! Next on my list is the LARGEST castle in the WORLD! SAY WHAT?! Its the Prague Castle in Prague (duh) which is in the Czech Republic. This castle has been around since the 9th century where it began as a church. Centuries later a Romanesque empire was erected here and in the 14th century the castle was rebuilt in a Gothic style. THEN a big fire happened in the 16th century and with the renovations, a renaissance style began to appear in the building. Basically, it rules ok?
The castle still houses several important buildings and even museums! So that means you can get ready to explore!!! If you just explore the castle, and not visit the museums, they say you will need about half a day. So GO! and take me with you?
