About the artist: Ria Charisse
As the daughter of the geologist, she grew up looking closely at fossils and rock formations. This fascination with natural forms continues, and her childhood rock collection has evolved into her current palette of precious and semi-precious stones. After years working as a sculptor and receiving an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, her aesthetic remains centered on the organic and precious. She has created a unusual object line, casting from nature and crafting delicate.
